Adastra 111 Advanced Notification - Potential Clinical Risk - ADASTRA 111 Ambulance Despatching

Dear Clinical Safety Officer / Customer,

We would like to make you aware of a potential clinical risk we have come across and the steps you should take to mitigate this risk.

At this time of increased 111 load Advanced has been conducting additional performance monitoring to ensure all aspects of the software are performing as expected. An issue has been discovered where on very rare occasions there seemed to be an unacceptable delay in the sending of the ambulance despatch request message once the in line disposition had been reached. In every case we investigated this was due to delay in the user pressing the button to activate the message.

In this document, we explain the sequence of events and remind users of the correct procedure to follow once the NHS Pathways algorithm is recommending an ambulance despatch. Can customers please make sure all users are aware of the correct procedure.
