Non-AHC Maintenance on NHS Services, scheduled 2 years ago

What is happening: As part of the planned switchover of our database (PostgreSQL) version from v9.6 to v12.8, we will start building the new v12.8 database and implementing replication from the current live database to this new version. The new version will eventually become the live version.

When: Mon 06-Dec-2021 from approx. 13:30. The work will take a number of hours to complete

Impact: There may be a small (4%) impact on the live service performance. Whilst this work proceeds the live service will work as normal. Our tests have shown there may be an impact on performance of the service, but that it will probably be only around 4% slower.

Action required: None. After this part of the change has been completed, we will send further comms to inform you of the success/failure of this process. If it is successful, that comms will contain details of the day/time that we actually plan to switch the live service to the new v12.8 database.

Should you have any further questions regarding this communication or would like to add or remove anybody from this distribution list, please contact the DoS Team via the Exeter Service Desk (exeter.helpdesk@nhs.net) or 0300 3034034
