This is a reminder that Advanced will be carrying out a live Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) test today, 13th July 2021.

This BCDR Test will simulate the loss of one datacentre, triggering a failover of the Advanced infrastructure platform to our secondary datacentre and will take place between 10am-2pm on 13th July 2021. There will be an interruption to all services as the failover occurs which is expected to be last under 15 minutes. Please note that the longer change window is to accommodate all pre- and post-change testing. The expected impact to customers is 15 minutes within this timeframe.

The test will be considered successful when it is confirmed that all applications and services are available to our customers.

Outline Implementation Plan

  1. Shutdown all services in the primary datacentre
  2. Initiate failover to secondary datacentre
  3. Confirm all applications and services are running as expected.

Planned Service Interruption There will be a loss of all services during the failover from the primary datacentre to the secondary. It is expected that the interruption will be under 15 minutes. Some services may take longer to restore where manual intervention is required to restart. Should the test need to be aborted for any reason then rollback will be initiated and there will be a second outage as failover to the primary datacentre occurs. It is again anticipated that this interruption will be under 15 minutes, although some services may take longer to restore where manual intervention is required.
